← HomeDaily Reflection

One truth. One question. One action.

One distinct Douay-Rheims verse for every day of the year, dated and named according to the Church’s current Roman calendar while retaining the corresponding traditional Latin Mass proper/readings. Sundays and feast days preferentially use Scripture from the traditional Mass; the second reflection is selected from the rest of your Rule of Life library to match the day’s Scripture when possible.

Truth is meant to become resolution. Spirago’s catechetical method aims at understanding, the heart, and the will. Let today’s reading end in one concrete act of virtue rather than information alone. Virtue integration →

How today is chosen

The app contains 365 distinct base Scripture references, deliberately spread across Catholic themes such as charity, faith, hope, peace, fortitude, trust, wisdom, prayer, truth, worship, and salvation. The plan also includes verses from the Catholic deuterocanonical books. Each day is cross-referenced against the Church’s current Roman calendar and the older traditional Roman calendar. Feast names and dates follow the current calendar; when a feast was moved, its older traditional proper and Gospel remain attached to it on the new date. On Sundays, saint feasts, vigils, and other proper feast days, that traditional Mass Gospel takes priority when available. Fr. F. X. Lasance’s New Roman Missal is retained as the historical/devotional reference for the older traditional calendar and its saints, while the live resolver uses the 1962 calendar so movable feasts fall on the correct dates. The current Roman readings are shown only as a cross-reference; their copyrighted text is not reproduced.
